Celebrity stylist William Whatley reveals the must-have hues of the season.
April 7, 2025
By: Melissa Meisel
Spring 2025 hair color trends for spring and summer are taking center stage as Celebrity Hair Stylist William Whatley—who is also the Creative Education Director for Scruples Haircare—reveals the must-have hues of the season. Known for crafting signature looks for celebrities, Whatley is sharing his color predictions that will dominate 2025 hair color trends.
Inspired by the vibrant energy of the season, Hollywood glam, global fashion runways and the ever-evolving world of beauty, Whatley’s forecast promises warmth, rich hues and vibrancy with each of his hair color creations.
Whatley’s trends will transform hair color looks as his 2025 color palette features two blondes, two reds and a brunette color hair collection for warmer months ahead.
In Whatley’s words:
Scruples’ Champagne Blonde trend for 2025 spring and summer is a throwback to a softer era in Hollywood where the blondes were richer and more golden than they were in recent trends with the ashier, cooler blondes I feel it’s more of an 80s era, but not as vibrant as in 2025 this color will feature a little softer golden tones, but definitely a throwback.
Scruples’ Honey Cashmere Blonde look was achieved resulting in a lighter, warmer blonde for the blondes that want to be blonde but still have a soft glamorous look.
Scruples’ Honey Mocha Brunette is a warm toned, mocha brown with a touch of natural golden delicate highlight. Brunettes are going to be huge for spring and summer 2025, but with a nice warmer feel moving away from the cooler brunettes of last season. In 2025, this color trend will add a soft contrast of warmer, lighter softer pieces to accent the contrast of colors making it look more of a natural looking brunette. To achieve the full look, blend it with beautiful mocha, caramel and honey tones.
Scruples’ Cherry Scarlet Red is a real rich, softer vibrant red with a cooler undertone. In 2025, the reds and coppers are going to be more of a cooler feel Instead of the more, orange-based reds of last season trend. This color trend features either a violet or a blue base which gives a most sultry look instead of an over-the-top loud red.
For the lighter reds in 2025, Scruples’ Sangria Red is a softer, cooler red with lush, wine-inspired red with cool sangria undertones, adding a sophisticated, radiant depth.
Celebrity Hair Stylist William Whatley is the current Creative Education Director for Scruples and has previously served as Artistic Director and part of the Scruples artistic team starting in 1994 before he took on creative ventures including his lead role on Ambush Makeover from 2000 to 2006. He continued with Scruples in 2006 through 2010 before spearheading hair styling for fashion designers including Dolce & Gabbana, Roberto Cavalli and Vera Wang then several years of additional celebrity work with award shows, serving as hair stylist for an NSYNC tour and heading education and creative programs for manufacturers before coming home to Scruples.
With a legacy spanning over 30 years in the beauty industry, William Whatley is not just a Celebrity Stylist and TV Personality but a transformative force whose influence extends across education, celebrity collaborations and captivating stage performances.
